Monday June 22nd Dr. David Wright, mathematician, professor, arranger, composer, director, coach, judge (since 1981), HU faculty member, historian, baritone, and member of the Barbershop Harmony Hall of Fame. He helped design the Music Category and served as its first Category Specialist.
He is Associate Director of the St. Charles Ambassadors of Harmony, four-time International Chorus Champions. He is a prolific arranger, having arranged for many top quartets and choruses. David is an effective coach for quartets and choruses at all levels, having directed and coached the Ambassadors from C+ to A+ and traveled the world coaching quartets and choruses. His main area of expertise is the phrasing, flow, proportioning, and development of the music so that is comes across as balanced and emotionally satisfying.
